The Hoving Home expanded to the West Coast in 1984 and opened a facility in Pasadena, California. The Home is located in the historic Mira Monte Hotel at 127 South El Molino Avenue in Pasadena and has the capacity to provide care for 50 women.
The Mira Monte Hotel was constructed in 1927 and was originally a majestic 17,793 square foot hotel with 36 rooms, a lobby and reception area. When the Hoving Home acquired the hotel in January 1999, it was in serious need of repair. Immediately, individuals and groups from the local area began “adopting” rooms and completely refurbishing them. With this hands-on involvement of so many friends and supporters, our Home once again became lovely and inviting . . . a place of Hope and Healing.
It is in this renewed atmosphere of warmth, trust, and support that countless ladies have found new life, filled with purpose and meaning. Each lady walks in our front door as a diamond-in-the-rough. She walks out the door completely changed, displaying the beauty and grace of a life transformed by the grace of God.
