Hi, my name is Jo, I am an only child and had a good life growing up. Unfortunately, due to the loss of my father, I turned to all the wrong people, places and things to cope with my pain. I was always around an older crowd and was introduced to hard drugs very early on. I loved it and little did I know the spiral | was about to be on very deep and dark. Back-to-back overdoses, prison time and unhealthy relationships. This was my journey for over half of my life, until I met and fell in love with Jesus at the Hoving Home. He pulled me from that muck and mire and set me free. My heart’s desire was to work for the home one day and give back what was so freely given to me.

Since then, the Lord has taken me here and there. He’s grown me and showed me. He’s taken me from level to level in my relationship with Him and my dependence on Him. I am who I am today because He is Who He is, God turned beauty from ashes. And all those years ago, when I wasn’t sure that He’s heard all of my prayers, He indeed gave me the desire of my heart, to work here at the Hoving Home. Thank You Lord!

Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.

What book is on your nightstand?

My Bible, journal, planner and (2) pens.

What is one of your favorite memories at Hoving Home?

The first time I came up the driveway and something shifted in my spirit, I knew I was Home and the search was over.

What is your favorite food?

Seafood, baked, broiled, steamed and fried.

What makes you laugh?
