Most of my life was lived in shame and constant anger. I jumped from relationship to relationship never feeling truly understood. I felt empty and without love. I came to understand I didn’t love myself. Due to the pressures of failed relationships I dug myself into a dark pit of alcohol and drugs, which lead into a darker pit of crime and violence. It was at my lowest where Jesus Christ rescued me. Through His redemptive power I discovered a new way of living.

I now know my identity in Christ and have accepted the calling the Lord has placed for my life. I am a new creation in Christ free from shame and anger. I am eager to work towards the expansion of the kingdom of heaven leading others to Christ.

Pulling up to driveway and seeing Erica Carter, Program Manager at the time, waiting for me and making me feel welcomed.
