Georgette Rodeheaver

Program Manager
North Carolina Leadership

I serve as the Program Manager at the Hoving Home Crisis Center in North Carolina. My journey with Hoving Home began in 2013 when I entered the program in Garrison, NY after battling addiction for 23 years. That year marked a turning point in my life as I encountered Jesus and found healing, purpose, and a new direction.

After completing both the Hoving Home program and leadership program and graduating in 2014, my life has been completely restored. I have reconciled and rebuilt relationships with all my children, I am now married, and I am a proud grandmother of six. I have remained actively involved in ministry and leadership and am currently pursuing an associates in Christian leadership as the next step in my personal and professional growth, with a desire to better serve the women God has entrusted to my care.

What is my favorite scripture: Joel 2:25

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten, the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm, my great army that I sent among you.

What book is on my nightstand: None. I do not like to read in bed.

What is one of my favorite memories of Hoving Home:

The day the bible came alive to me! I was in the chapel where I went every day to read the bible. I did not want to, but I heard Beth say that the ones who make it are the ones who go in the chapel when they don’t have to. I knew I never wanted to do this again. I was having a very hard time being there at first. So, day after day I went to the chapel and finally one day it breathed! I was reading in Lamentations 4 and when I got to verse 9, I was undone.

Lamentations 4:9 Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of famine; racked with hunger, they waste away for lack of food from the field.

When I read this, I understood my first verse in bible, and I have lived by it ever since. It would be easier now that I am a follower of Jesus Christ to go back into my addiction then to not read the word of God daily.

What is my favorite food?  – I don’t have just one. I love almost all foods!

What makes me laugh?  – My husband. He is the funniest person I know outside of myself. I absolutely love to laugh! I love to make people laugh too. I even laugh during worship.
