Kaylan Price

Education Coordinator NY
Lioness and the Lamb Women and Children Leadership

My name is Kaylan. I am from Cerritos and Norwalk, CAAs I kid, I never knew who my mother was due to her addiction and lifestyle until the end of 2020. My father as always been the strong provider of the family but because of his own issues, my household lacked love and support.I have four very close-knitted siblings, while the other ones are unknown and scattered. Overall, I have been through foster care, molested by a family friend, pregnant and experienced many important loses.

Growing up, the responsibility of taken care of my grandmother with Alzheimer and my little brother with fifty-percent Down syndrome had been given to me. Feeling as though the weight of the world was on my shoulders or against me, I began misbehaving at home and at school. I soon began going in and out of meaningless relationship, seeking some type of comfort for my life. This behavior lead me to a domestic violence relationship where I started drinking heavily, smoking cocaine, meth and going in and out of multiple jails. Lastly, it disconnected me from all the people who I truly loved and loved me back.

On multiple occasions, I found myself homeless and completely broken. In 2017, I walked through the doors of Hoving Home for the first time, after hearing about it through my older sister. I went through program, completed the Emerging Leaders, did an internship and still ended up relapsing and going back to the same old habits and relationships. It took me a few more times going into the doors of the Hoving Home to realize how loved and worthy I am by Jesus.

I went on to study at the Hoving Home Leadership Academy, in Garrison, New York. In the Academy, I learned to increase the gifts that God has given me and lead in the ways of JesusI am grateful to be a part of this ministry that did not just save my life, but teaches women & families that God can do a new thing!
