Murphy Veronesi

maintenance Coordinator
New York Leadership

I am from a small town in North Carolina. I started experimenting with drugs and men when I was 15. I was in my addiction for over 20 years and I gave up everything that meant anything or that was imported in my life. I allowed addiction to take away two beautiful children, and years of my life, which I spent in jail and prison. When I was 41 years old, I heard about the Hoving Home while I was in jail and God touched my heart and when I got out, I made a phone call and with that phone call God saved my life. He brought me to this program.and helped me to build a relationship with him. He changed my heart and my life. I graduated the program in New York three years ago. After graduating the program I went to TCMI for a year in California. When I graduated in California, I worked for teen challenge in Hawaii for a year, after that year God called me back home here in New York, where it all started. I’m so grateful to him for this program because through this program, my life was changed and so was the life of my loved ones and everyone else around me. God has restored the relationship with my mother and daughter, and a hope for the future.

My favorite scripture is:

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we live in the world, we do not Wage War as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

What is one of my favorite memories at Hoving Home?:

I would have to say one of my favorite memories is the family dinner we have every week because we all come together, sit together, eat together and have fellowship.

What makes me laugh?:

Almost everything makes me laugh. I’m pretty easily entertained and I’m a pretty happy go lucky person so most things.

What is your favorite food?:
